Back from California

I had so much fun in California. I first want to thank God for a safe trip back and forth, after knowing there was something wrong with the plane. Thank God they found out the problem before boarding the plane. Visiting my friend Khambye, her family, friends and another good friend Andrea was awesome. I am so happy to know someone who truly has a heart for God. I love Khambye's heart for God and walking in His truth. She is now in Korea, to teach 7th graders English and focus on prayer. I ask that we keep her in prayers, that she will stay strong in Christ and continue to grow in Him.

I had the chance to visit Fresno, Los Angeles and San Francisco. I took a lot of pictures, ate Asian and Mexican food.... Here are some pictures I took:

Our vision is so limited we can hardly imagine a love that does not show itself in protection from suffering.... The love of God did not protect His own Son.... He will not necessarily protect us - not from anything it takes to make us like His Son. A lot of hammering and chiseling and purifying by fire will have to go into the process.

A Trip to California

I am excited about this trip to visit my college friend and mentor in California name Khambye. She has influence me in so many ways. One way in particular was "praying for her family." On her wall was a list of her family members in which she was praying for their salvation. It was amazing to see and know what she was doing. God did answer her prayers, but she continues to pray for them. She has encourage me to to pray for my family and their salvation. I am so happy that God put such an amazing woman of God in my life. She is a woman that has a heart for God and I love that she continues to serve God with her life.

I am leaving this Saturday and can't wait to share some pictures.

Reflecting on Trusting

One thing I have came to realize was that I am not quick to trust people. I am sometimes closed off from people. Childhood experiences have taught me that I could not trust in anyone. I became a "worry" person, to the point I could not sleep and I feared everything. I worried about the future, and did not enjoy the present. I'd worried about the payment of school tuition, worried about family, friends, or where I would be in the next five years. When I worried it had a big affect on my body, I started to shake, have headaches and would not eat much. I needed to know and understand everything that would happen in my life. I wanted control; thinking I could do everything myself.

While in school, I realized that I did not trust God about my future. I wanted to have control. But, God is all-knowing and He knows what is best for me.  I don't believe that God would ever lead me or His children  to anything that is not good or hurtful. He does not make any mistakes and because He loves us, he will take care of us. So I pray for myself and others who might struggle in the area of "trusting", that we will surrender all to God and depend on the God who is all-knowing, who cares for us and the One that even holds our last breathe.

Encouraging Bible Verses:

Trust in:
-God everlasting strength: Trust in the LORD forever,
 For in YAH, the LORD,
 is everlasting strength. ~Isaiah 26:4

-God's goodness: The LORD is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. ~Nahum 1:7

-God's lovingkindness: How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. ~Psalm 36:7

-God's cares for us: casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. ~1 Peter 5:7

-Should be whole heart: Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; ~Proverbs 3:5

Trust Not in:

-Ourselves: Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, ~2 Corinthians 1:9

-Carnal Weapons: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds ~2 Corinthians 10:4

Quotes on Trust:

We have to trust what we cannot see. It's that faith that pleases God. Do you want to please God with your life? Then God will put you in circumstances where you cannot see the outcome. You cannot see the reason. It makes no sense. You've just got to trust. A trusting heart will ultimately be a contented heart.  ~Revive Our Hearts "A Trusting Heart"

It is a glorious thing to know that your Father God makes no mistakes in directing or permitting that which crosses the path of your life. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. It is our glory to trust Him, no matter what.  ~Joni Eareckson Tada

Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future.
It's simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step.
~ Joni Erickson Tada

God is God. Because He is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I will find rest nowhere but in His holy will, a will that is unspeakably beyond my largest notions of what He is up to. ~Elisabeth Elliot

Thank You Abba

I just want to give thanks to God this morning. I am almost finish with my third year in college. I am amazed that I am still in school and I am just happy. God has provided for me to stay in college and farther my education in social work. Being in college is not the easiest thing, there is a lot of school work. So much has happen this semester in college; I found out a lot about myself and building new friendships with people. I learned that life is unpredictable, learned that it is okay to be open, learned about God's grace and sovereignty. My GPA is standing at 3.35, I praise God for that and thank Him for helping me. He has and continues to comfort me and give me strength while in school.

Study on the Holy Spirit

  • Testifies of Christ “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." John 15:26

  •  Imparts the Love of God: "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  and perseverance, character; and character, hope.  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:3-5

  • Teaches Christians  "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." John 14:26

  •    Dwells with and in Christians "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you." John 14:17

  • Reveals things of Christ "He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you." John 16:14

  • Directs in the way of godliness "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “ This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21

  • Guides into all truth "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." John 16:13
